it’s all very easy isn’t it leonie, showing compassion for a friend, loved one, or anyone else you hold dear.
what i really want to know is…
- how easy is it for you to show the same amount of compassion to a bleary-eyed, swaying-drunk stranger who is throwing up on his shoes (and the pavement close to you), creating an awful smell and a mess on the sidewalk in the middle of the day?
- how easy/hard is it for you to not judge another being at this moment?
Such an important message ~ and one I’ve been reminding myself of a lot lately!

You’re right, it is so easy to love those close to us, and to scorn a stranger. Thank you for the reminder that it is the more difficult things that are the most significant sometimes.

sometimes i find it easier to have compassion for strangers than for those closest to me…it is a strange dynamic…but when i open my heart and brush away all the preprogrammed gook, i can love freely and easily…loving you, me
